Florida Acoustic Roots Duo, Spearman Brewers, new EP Release "One Drink Minimum"

The Spearman Brewers are a Pensacola based band that plays Acoustic Panhandle Blues, a combination of pre-war blues, jazz, gospel, and jug music. The Brewers honor the past by bringing it to the present with original compositions based on these time-enduring styles.  It's the New Old Stuff, where the bottle hits the string.

Scott Riggs (Brewmaster) - Vocals, Resonator Guitar, Slide Guitar, Mandolin, Concert Ukulele, Washboard.
Jeremy Holcombe (Rickyard Supervisor) - Upright Bass, Baritone Ukulele, Soprano Ukulele, Bowed Saw.

Influences: Blind Boy Fuller, Tampa Red, Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Willie Johnson, Robert Johnson, Casey Bill Weldon, Son House, Barbecue Bob, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Charley Patton, Bukka White, Bo Carter, Blind Willie McTell, Washboard Sam, Blind Blake, Bumble Bee Slim, Leadbelly, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith, Fats Waller, Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, Memphis Jug Band, Mississippi Sheiks, Memphis Minnie, Django Reinhardt, Lonnie Johnson, Bill Monroe, Hank Williams Sr, Johnny Cash............Just to name a few.

Marty's review: If these guys were anymore "rootsy" you could cultivate them! Nothing but acoustic instruments here with a clean, crisp sound that is taken from those old 78's (without the scratches) and transports you to that front porch swing on a lazy afternoon. This 6-track EP is a treat for the senses and is guaranteed repeat listens.
