The Hurt Project, New York City blues band EP release "The Shady Bear Sessions"

The Hurt Project is a New York City-based blues band focused on adding original blues tunes to the American lexicon; essentially, they work to honor the traditional sounds of the blues by exploring those sounds in their own voice.

The Hurt Project is pursuing a new take on the blues, while staying true to the musical traditions that make the blues great. Based in NYC, THP has released a studio album of standard blues tunes, was included in two Hurricane Sandy benefits, and completed a tour of Montana where they played 30-person venues and up to 2,000-person festivals. THP gigs regularly around NYC.

"This is just good music, from start to finish"

"The Hurt Project executes the blues effortlessly"

"Old school...heartfelt"

Marty's review: The Shady Bear Sessions EP delivers all elements of the blues in 3 top quality tracks that will leave you craving for more. Raunchy and slick guitar, wailing harmonica, "dancing" keyboards and a tight rhythm that brings it all together. Add to that the smooth, sultry voice of vocalist Jasmin Lloyd, and you have a sound that is the
combination of traditional blues with a comtemporary sound that makes THP unique. My favorite track would have to be "Up In Smoke", but all three tracks are winners in my view.
