Tayo Irvine Hendrix to release ‘CRAZY DAYZE’ – September 9th 2013

‘Crazy Dayze’ is the first single to be taken from forthcoming album ‘EXPERIENCE this’ set for release on 23rd September 2013

Tayo Irvine Hendrix (yes, daughter of Jimi) has music running through her veins. Since being given a drum at three years old, Tayo has developed a love of music and a sound of her own that is perfectly encapsulated by her new single ‘Crazy Dayze’ taken from the album ‘EXPERIENCE this’.

The syncopated jazz rhythms along with stunning guitar flourishes, an infectious bass line and Tayo’s sultry vocals make this an irresistible blues track. Tayo’s lyrics are the sort that stay in your mind long after the music has stopped, making this a sure fire hit for the songstress.

‘EXPERIENCE this’ is a collection of songs that takes each listener on a journey. The album showcases Tayo’s stunning and powerful voice as well as a wide range of musical influences. Alongside the blues and soul elements, Tayo’s work as a healer has also helped to shape the sound, bringing mantras to the mainstream and creating an accessible sound.

Throughout her thirty years in the music industry, Tayo has had the honour of working with some incredible musicians and this album once again saw Tayo bring together a stellar team.  As well as the first class musicians with whom Tayo collaborated for the record, the album is mixed by Blake Eiseman, the man responsible for Pink’s debut album and known for his work with the likes of Usher, Janet Jackson and Aretha Franklin.

Tayo Irvine Hendrix is a drummer, percussionist, vocalist, songwriter and composer, a true creative who was undoubtedly destined for the musical world. Her famous name aside, Tayo’s music is, as suggested by the album’s title, an experience. ‘Crazy Dayze’ is a perfect introduction to Tayo’s musical landscape, and with her zest for life shining through, Tayo Irvine Hendrix is taking back the blues in style.

Tayo will be appearing on BBC Breakfast on Saturday 14th September and ‘Crazy Dayze’ will be available for download on itunes from 9th September. ‘EXPERIENCE this’ is set for release on 23rd September.

Arc and Stones..blues-rock from New York EP release and tour dates

Arc and Stones have gone from humble beginnings to major venues and significant buzz over the past 6 months. They're touring nationally at the moment in support of their 2013 self-titled EP and 3 accompanying music videos.

They are a four-piece rock band from New York City consisting of members Dan Pellarin, Ben Cramer, Eddy Bayes, and Joe Doino. Upon meeting in college in 2010, ideas were tossed around about starting up a band, but it was not until June of 2012 that Arc & Stones would officially begin. Both Pellarin and Cramer relocated to New York City to begin writing and recording what is now their debut five song EP, "Arc & Stones EP." During the summer of 2012, Pellarin and Cramer's mutual friend from college, Eddy Bayes, coincidentally moved up to New York City and began playing bass for the band.  The three members eventually completed their lineup after finding their drummer, Joe Doino, from an ad online.  By the end of the summer, Arc & Stones, was officially born.

Having their sound described as a mix of alternative-rock, blues and soul, Arc and Stones deliver hard-hitting music from the heart. The band played their first show in September 2012 and has been making a name for themselves through New York City and as a national touring act.

As It All Began...The Best of John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers 1964-1969

John Mayall, OBE (born 29 November 1933) is an English blues singer, guitarist, organist and songwriter, whose musical career spans over fifty years. In the 1960s, he was the founder of John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, a band which has included some of the most famous blues and blues rock musicians. They include Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Jack Bruce, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Mick Taylor, Don "Sugarcane" Harris, Harvey Mandel, Larry Taylor, Aynsley Dunbar, Hughie Flint, Jon Hiseman, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Andy Fraser, Dave Navarro, Johnny Almond, Walter Trout, Coco Montoya and Buddy Whittington.

Born in Macclesfield, Cheshire in 1933, Mayall's father was Murray Mayall, a guitarist and jazz music enthusiast. From an early age, John was drawn to the sounds of American blues players such as Lead Belly, Albert Ammons, Pinetop Smith, and Eddie Lang, and taught himself to play the piano, guitars, and harmonica.

The band that would evolve to the Bluesbreakers in 1965 was formed in January 1963 and became an ever-evolving lineup of more than 100 different combinations of musicians performing under that name. Eric Clapton joined in April 1965 just a few months after the release of their first album. Clapton brought guitar-led blues influences to the forefront of the group; he had left The Yardbirds in order to concentrate on the blues.

"The Father of British Blues" himself chose and annotated the 20 tracks that comprise this look at his early years, and when you consider Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Paul Butterfield, Mick Fleetwood and Mick Taylor all passed through the band during this era, the honorific is well-earned!
